The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center
1100 N. Plum Hutchinson, Kansas
With more than 10,000 space artifacts, it is one of the country’s premier space museums outside of the Smithonian. It features an Omnimax Theater with a 44-foot wrap-around dome screen.

Lake Afton Public Observatory.
20 miles southwest of downtown Wichita on MacArthur Road at 247th. St. W in Lake Afton County Park. The observatory’s 16-inch telescope offers views of Saturn’s rings, the Moon’s craters, clouds of gas, and distant galaxies. Experiment with light, make your own telescope, play astronomy computer games, and much more.
